The background music here is a combination of an energetic music, nostalgia and the silence in the music movie clips where the girls are having fun with their father. They get into the tub to have a shower, they are talkative, they run around the house and in all this the background music is infused well with the energy of the girls. The music also weaves in a thread of nostalgia, especially in the movie sections where the girls are having fun alone. Tze-Yue and Hu present that the Miyazaki’s movies have a way of presenting the things that are past (Tze-Yue and Hu). The background music that is livelier in these sections of the movie indeed transports the viewer to their own childhood, the time of carefree days.
