A successful project manager has to lead through setting objectives and applying the right ways to influence the project team towards accomplishment of the objective. Good leaders help the team members to feel they have an actual stake in the project and support them to take part in problem-solving and decision-making . Effective project managers lead by being role models for the team members. They are flexible and straightforward regarding the challenges they experience. They identify the significance of joint team effort in attaining the wanted outcomes. Thus they are capable of recognising and using the strengths of all the team members and give out roles and responsibilities.
For all the projects, there are a few stakeholders who feel that their concerns and issues are highly significant. The successful project management techniques look forward to responding to those issues in the most excellent manner, so that there is no compromise with the remaining stakeholders or the whole project .
One of the examples of a great project management had been in case of my leader who was working on one large project for full year. The project manager was just two months from the difficult deadline and the project sponsors wanted the deadline to be decreased by two weeks. This had been huge difficulty for the leader and all this was caused because of unforeseen market changes. As for the sponsor, these deadlines were so critical that if they would not be met, then the project would become useless.
