EXTERNAL – The external environment consists of variables (O & T) that are outside the organization and not typically within the short-run control of top management. Here, external market factors/trends are considered from two perspectives: It is common for students to apply the P.E.S.T. assessment (Political-legal; Economic; Socio-cultural and Technological) when considering general external market factors currently affecting both the organization and the industries in which it competes.
Threat of new entrants: In this market the chances of new entrants are less as because of the location where this organization operates.
Bargaining power of buyers: This organization creates a network of buyers and sellers so there are more chances of bargaining powers of the buyers.
Threat of substitute products or services: There is no much threat of substitute of the products or services of the company there as there will not be any company who will wish to establish there for in future.
Bargaining power of suppliers: Suppliers also have a chance to bargaining the products and services with the buyers. So this occurs because of the direct buying and selling process of the buyers and sellers.
Relative power of unions, governments, special interest groups, etc.: Because of small place and small organization the chances of union are less. As from the case analysis it can be seen that there is no union in the company.
Legal and socio-environmental issues facing the industry: There are some legal or socio-environmental issues present there. The company is operating in that town area and don’t have proper environmental protecting technology.
The chances of customers are more as there is only one company in this inline production.
Local communities will get the employment in the organization and will have the good life to live.
Fewer stakeholders generate more profits to the owner of the organization.
In short there are less threats but greater opportunities in terms of expansion, profits, customers and local insights.
