Lighting Control System is an intelligent network based lighting system which is generally employed to create an artificially naturality in a residential area. This system generally lays emphasis on a particular portion of the house, so that the complete complexion of the place finds a change. The main use of this system is to provide the right amount of light to different places to ensure a difference in various aspects of the house. Lighting Control System includes networking devices such as relays, sensors and touch screens to ensure a royal enhancement in and around the selected area. This has replaced the traditional stand alone lighting systems by establishing control over every light and bulb installed at a single stretch. This system thus ensures easy accommodation and installation, thereby saving a considerable amount of space in the house.
Laws of Reflection and Refraction at a glance
Reflection and Refraction are two important phenomena in lighting systems. Reflection is a phenomenon in which a light ray strikes a medium and bounces back from the medium. Refraction is a phenomenon of bending of the light rays at the point of contact. However, both the phenomenon carries different set of laws and effects on a surface of contact. The Law of Reflection states that the angle at which the light ray falls on the surface is equal to the angle at which it bounces back from the surface (Jakle et al, 1989). The Law of Refraction states that the light ray striking the surface and position at which it bends are all at a common plane. These laws are important to be understood because they serve as building blocks in calculating the angles at which the lighting has to be provided to ensure different effect.
Dispersion of Light
The phenomenon of dispersion of light can be created in a room by using mirror slabs. This provides splitting up of a white light into different colours. The phenomenon of splitting up of light ray into seven different colours of different wavelength is Dispersion.
