A number of theorists in the present times such as Scott (2005), has linked fashion as a medium of self expression and creativity rather than something which is objected. They say that the female body is something which is always encoded by the culture. Scott argues that the notion of a natural mode of dress is something which can’t be sustained. She points that other than the natural look of the female, a large amount of artifice is also a necessity. For example, even when the feminists’ abstained women from doing make up, they still used to wash their faces and followed the routine style of body maintenance. Scott further added that the decoration of the body can therefore be described as a necessary practise which forms an important part of the body (Negrin, 2008). Therefore, it is true that a woman can never move out of the discourse which is related to the fashion. Even if it is something as simple as the normal, jeans, shoes or pullovers, it has an impact of fashion. Another important aspects of female fashion is that the clothing and the other methods of adornment which are related to female fashion, does not completely depends on the decorative elements.
Identity of modern Women
The modern women idealize themselves to be fashioned and are responsible for the authority of fashion. The identity of modern women is defined in terms of the way they have fashioned their bodies. This, is because in contrast to the past era, in the present times, identity of a female person is defined in terms of the image which he or she creates through the clothes which she wears. The culture of seductive appearance is appreciated for women. It is something which further characterizes her self esteem.
