India’s demography and cultural profile is going under a radical change with time and people here have started keeping pets for security and companionship more than anything else. This has paved the way for a rather alien market, i.e. pet healthcare product market. People are now taking care of their pets, be it dogs or cats, as their family members and are ready to shell out few extra rupees for quality and branded products for their dear pets.
The assignment undertaken is a report to study the market scenario of pet healthcare industry in India and the scope of launching a new range of products in India with special respect to the environmental factors like demography, culture, social, political and legal implications etc. For this study, India has been chosen as the target market as it is one of the most promising countries of the recent times and can proof to be a profitable strategic business decision as the purchasing power of Indians has elevated their standard of living and demand for products and services of international standards.
