In 1935, he sold his first sketches of hats and dresses a few great designers like Nina Ricci, Balenciaga, and Claude St-Cyr. Before making his debut in fashion, he also worked as an illustrator for the figaro Illustrated and created costumes for film and theater.
In 1946, after the Second World War, was born the fashion house Christian Dior. Marcel Boussac, the king of textiles, in fact, decided to support the project by the talented designer in the funding of 60 million francs. With this considerable boost Dior has opened its doors at 30 Avenue Montaigne in Paris.
